Was Mariangela Right?

Since the new cd still isn't done,I can't say for sure if she is or isn't.

Yes and no for me.

She is very much capable of being a suitable frontwoman for Tristania. She may have a completely different singing style to Vibeke but, she is still great.

She is great. I like Mary but not with Tristania. Not because I'm a crazy Vibeke fan but because I liked her with Reel Fiction and wish she had stayed with the band.

I use to think the same thing. But looking at new pictures of Tristania, I think that they are starting a new era. Maybe they wanted someone completely different from Vibeke. I think from the samples of new stuff I've heard that they might be starting to explore new genres. But I'm just going wait for the new cd before I make up my mind.

Fom what I've heared she sounds very well on the old songs,and probably even better on the future album .We'll just have to wait and hear.

When I saw that clip of Mary singing in the studio, the first thing I thought was.....she looks like a Gun`s and Roses backing singer and nothing I`ve seen has changed that. I saw Tristania with Vibeke on vocals in my home town supporting Nightwish when they had Tarja. Tristania created an amazing atmosphere and played some incredibly heavy/gothic/atmospheric music. That night, they absolutely blew Nightwish away,......there`s always been a nice horror/gothic edge to Tristania in the past which just isn`t there anymore. When Vibeke sings everyone listens, I`m not sure the same can be said of Mary.

I vote that I'm not sure, because I haven't heard the new material. But the band obviously thinks she was the right choice, I suppose it really doesn't matter what I think.
